From June through October 2025, Tahoe Music Alive is hosting four special concerts that bring world-class chamber music to intimate venues across North Lake Tahoe. The season features everything from a celebrated solo guitarist to a marimba, flute, and violin trio, and closes with a powerful performance by a violin, cello, and piano trio. Each show takes place in a warm, welcoming space, making the music feel close, personal, and unforgettable.
Things to Know Before Coming
Concerts are held in different venues, so double-check the location before you go. Most performances are in the late afternoon or evening, giving you the perfect chance to enjoy live music as the day winds down. The settings are small and cozy, so every seat feels close to the stage.
Concerts Schedule
The season begins on June 10 at St. Patrick’s Church in Incline Village, with Spanish guitarist Rafael Aguirre performing from 6 to 8 p.m. Supported by William Douglass, Aguirre is known worldwide, having won 13 first prizes in top competitions, and will play a solo program following a feature with the San Jose Symphony.
On September 13, from 4 to 6 p.m. at Fox Cultural Hall in Kings Beach, percussionist Haruka Fujii will perform alongside the Musubi Trio, featuring violinist Beni Shinohara and flutist Rayo Furuta. Presented in collaboration with Arts for the Schools, this concert blends the vibrant sound of marimba with strings and winds for a fresh, colorful experience.
The series closes on October 10 at the Olympic Valley Chapel with the Yamazalde Trio, featuring Sandy Yamamoto on violin, Matthew Zalkind on cello, and Julio Elizalde on piano. Their 4 to 6 p.m. concert will highlight music by Haydn, Mendelssohn, and Paul Schoenfeld. Hailed by The New York Times for their “explosive vigor and technical finesse,” this trio is known for performances that leave a lasting impression.
