November 8

The inaugural Ferris 50M and 50K endurance run takes place on Saturday, November 8, 2025, in Carson Valley. Named after George Washington Gale Ferris, inventor of the Ferris Wheel, this race celebrates Carson Valley’s history with single-track trails, OHV trails, and minimal concrete. There are three distances: 50 miles, 50 kilometers, and 15 kilometers. The course runs through the foothills of eastern Carson Valley with views of Job’s Peak.
Things to Know Before Coming
All races start at the Douglas County Fairgrounds and finish at TJ’s Corral outside Carson Valley Inn. Shuttles run from Carson Valley Inn to the start for runners. The 50M and 50K feature trails through Carson Valley foothills with few major climbs, making it a fast course. The 15K is less strenuous and runs from the Fairgrounds through Gardnerville along Martin Slough Trail. The finish line has a festival atmosphere.
