Valhalla Tahoe presents Proof, a powerful modern drama by David Auburn, running this fall in the Boathouse Theatre. The play tells the story of Catherine, who’s spent years caring for her brilliant but unstable mathematician father. After his death, she faces doubts about a mysterious proof he left behind, clashes with her estranged sister, and confronts questions about genius, mental health, and her own identity. The show is intimate, emotional, and full of tension between logic and feeling.
Things to Know Before Coming
Performances are nightly at 7:30 p.m. on October 16, 17, 18, 19, 23, 24 & 25, with a matinee on October 26 at 2:00 p.m. Seating is limited, so arriving early is wise. Doors open 30 minutes before the show begins. The theatre is in the Tallac Historic Site’s Boathouse, so expect a lakeside, rustic setting. Be ready for lighting and dramatic effects that enhance the mood.
